Hacx/Doom Multi Player Help

This page describes how to setup a multiplayer game with Hacx/Doom for Android and/or PrBoom. Note: There is no support for firewalls or VPNs (you must use a real IP address or WIFI). Also, a game cannot start until all clients connect! For details see the PrBoom multiplayer help.

• Install The PrBoom server into your PC.
• Copy the game files (*.wad including doom2.wad) into the folder above. Everybody must have the same game files!
• Start the server: prboom_server -N 2 -p 5030 (where 2 is the number of players and 5030 is the default port); or simply type: prboom_server (2 player default).
• Start Alien Wars and tap Menu > Multi Player. Selecta game and enter the PC IP address.
• Other PCs may join by installing PrBoom (plus all WADs) and typing: prboom -net IP_ADDRESS[:PORT] -iwad doom2.wad -file GAMEFILE. Note: All clients must have the same GAME file(s) [icarus.wad, av.wad, vile.wad, or zombie.wad] .

• Download and Install the Doom for Android Server APK into your phone and start it. (Note: Save the archive as .apk NOT .zip! - right click then Save target as).
• Send the IP address of your phone to all clients. Have them connect to your IP.
• Note: You must have a real IP. The game won't start until all clients connect. Running the server and client in your phone is slow.
